No one thought it possible that a person could swim the approximately 50 kilometers from the mainland to Heligoland. André Wiersig nevertheless embarked on this daring project, relying on experienced sailors and current experts. "Heligoland: Can you swim there?" is a book about one of the greatest adventures of 2021. "I love the sea and see myself as part of it," said Wiersig before he started his expedition on the beach of St. Peter-Ording. "I see my role as telling the story of what it's like out there."
